Faith to Action Womens Conference(FAWC) 2018

The Faith to
Action Womens Conference (FAWC) is an annual gathering of women from
Christian, Muslim and Traditional Leadership, with the aim of inspiring
and empowering them to transform their religious faiths into action for
the peace and development of society. The FAWC has been held for the
past seven years and has influenced the lives of many women of different
religious persuasions and nationalities.

Religious fanaticism
or terrorism leads to despicable acts and wanton disregard for human
life, property and religion. Ignorance of the religious beliefs of
neighbours breeds prejudice, stereotyping and fear towards them and that
is a panacea for inter-religious conflict and even acts of terrorism.
Ghana is surrounded by countries that have experienced various degrees
of terrorist attacks and some Ghanaian youth are known to have traveled
to Nigeria, Syria and Iraq to join Boko Haram and ISIS. The country has
also had its own share of good interfaith experiences as well as
tensions and conflicts mainly between Muslims and Christians but also
with traditional believers.

The FAWC 2018 is therefore vital as
it seeks to educate, train and equip Christian, Muslim and Traditional
Women Leaders towards the promotion and enhancement of peaceful
co-existence. It is a platform for women to share experiences on issues
of particular concern in Christian, Muslim and Traditional relations. It
is our conviction that the participants of this programme would become
useful resources for enhancing peace and development.
